AtlantisBPnet Project
The Observatory of Best Practices for the Information Society is a result of AtlantisBpnet, a transnational project supported by INTERREG IIIB Atlantic Space Program, developed from 2005 to 2007.
The innovative aspects of AtlantisBpnet were:
- The development of a common methodology for identifying and analysing “Best Practices”. The analysis and evaluation’s parameters and the process of work compose the AtlantisBPnet Method for analysis of Information Society Best Practices.
- The collaboration system, based on Regional Nodes Network.
ObservatoriumBP.net becomes in a “virtual collaborative network” supported by Internet, composed by all public or private regional entities, which provides individual agents.
These agents identify and/or analyse Information Society Initiatives, according to a process of work established by AtlantisBPnet.
This conception of network of work allows adding new entities and new regions, which contribute to update the Method and also, it stimulates the communication and the exchange of experience with other network.
The initial network was composed by the AtlantisBPnet partners:
At present, 13 entities take part of the collaboration network, clustered on 4 nodes. All these entities provide 63 collaborating agents.
